This space has a long history of philanthropy, community and social action. It was the location for the original Salvation Army Mission Hall – which supplied food to the local area and later became the Salvation HQ.
x+why have reinvigorated it with the local community and multiculturalism at its heart. Combined with strong ‘green’ and sustainability credentials, and innovative amenities, it is the perfect powerhouse for productivity.
Inspiration for this space was taken from the history of Whitechapel, specifically its heritage of tanneries and local markets, and its more recent reincarnation as an area for the arts, combined with a unique mix of cultures and traditions.
The building has a BREEM ‘Excellent’ rating (designed to enhance the well-being of the people who work here, and help protect natural resources)
It's also worth noting that members who apply for their B Corp certification get 5 extra points added to their assessment, because of how the space was constructed, fitted out and is managed - incredible.
